US Postal Service’s Green Roof in NYC

Perched above the seventh floor of the Morgan mail processing facility on 9th Ave and 30th St, the US Postal Service’s green roof is the largest in NYC. This new roof will help the facility reduce its energy use by 30% by 2015, reduce polluted stormwater runoff by 75% in the summer and 35% in the winter, and the roof will last 50 years, which is twice as long as the roof they just replaced. Additionally, the employees can take in the magnificent views while sitting on the park benches.
